Muzaffarnagar to Delhi by taxi: route, travel time, fare and tips
Everything you need for a smooth Muzaffarnagar–Delhi cab trip — the expressway route, how long it really takes, round-trip fares by car type, and drop tips for hospitals, stations and the airport.
Delhi is the trip Muzaffarnagar makes most. Some of us go for treatment at AIIMS or Ganga Ram, some for a train from New Delhi Railway Station, some for a wedding in Laxmi Nagar or a day of shopping in Karol Bagh. Buses and trains work, but a private cab takes you from your gate to your exact destination — and back — without changes at Meerut or Ghaziabad.
This guide covers the route, realistic travel times, what a round-trip taxi costs, and the small things that make the day easier.
How far is Delhi from Muzaffarnagar?
Central Delhi (Connaught Place) is about 125 km by road from Muzaffarnagar city. East Delhi areas like Anand Vihar and Laxmi Nagar are a little closer; South and West Delhi a little further. Delhi airport is about 150 km — we have a separate airport guide for that.
The route most drivers take
From Muzaffarnagar the cab heads south on the Delhi–Haridwar highway through Khatauli and past Daurala to Meerut. At Meerut it joins the Delhi–Meerut Expressway, which runs into Delhi past Ghaziabad. The expressway removed the slowest part of the old trip — the stop-start stretch through Modinagar and Muradnagar — so the drive is now far more predictable.
- Muzaffarnagar → Khatauli → Meerut: highway, about 55 km.
- Meerut → Delhi: expressway, about 70 km depending on where in Delhi you are going.
How long does it take?
With a 6 am start, most trips reach central Delhi in about 2 hours 30 minutes. Leave at 9 am on a weekday and you will meet office traffic around Ghaziabad and the Delhi border; add 30–60 minutes. Sunday mornings are the quickest.
| Leaving Muzaffarnagar | Typical time to central Delhi |
|---|---|
| 5–6 am | 2 hr 15 min – 2 hr 30 min |
| 8–10 am (weekday) | 3 hr – 3 hr 30 min |
| After 11 am | 2 hr 45 min – 3 hr |
Muzaffarnagar to Delhi taxi fare
Every MSCars booking is a round trip: the driver takes you to Delhi, waits, and brings you home. The fare is the car's rate per kilometre × the round-trip distance. For central Delhi that is roughly 250 km:
| Cab | Rate | Approx. round-trip fare |
|---|---|---|
| WagonR | ₹9/km | ₹2,250 |
| Swift | ₹10/km | ₹2,500 |
| Swift Dzire | ₹12/km | ₹3,000 |
| Ertiga (6 seats) | ₹16/km | ₹4,000 |
| Innova Crysta (7 seats) | ₹20/km | ₹5,000 |
The exact fare depends on your pickup and drop, and the booking screen shows it before you confirm. Fares include GST; highway tolls and parking are confirmed with you before the trip. See the fares page for how the maths works.
Where can the taxi drop you?
Anywhere in Delhi. The most common drops from Muzaffarnagar are:
- Hospitals: AIIMS, Safdarjung, Sir Ganga Ram, Max Patparganj, Apollo Sarita Vihar.
- Railway stations: New Delhi, Old Delhi, Hazrat Nizamuddin, Anand Vihar Terminal.
- Bus terminals: Anand Vihar and Kashmere Gate ISBT.
- Markets and offices: Karol Bagh, Chandni Chowk, Laxmi Nagar, Nehru Place.
Tips for a smoother day
- Start early. A 6 am pickup gets you past Ghaziabad before traffic builds and gives you a full day in Delhi.
- Share the exact gate. Big hospitals like AIIMS have many entrances. Send the gate number to your driver.
- Carry documents in one folder. For hospital and court visits, keep reports and ID ready so you are not searching in the car.
- Plan the return. Leaving Delhi between 5 pm and 8 pm is slow. If you can, start back before 4 pm or after 8 pm.
- Halfway break. Khatauli on the highway is the usual stop for tea and snacks on the way back.
Bus, train or taxi?
Buses from the Muzaffarnagar Roadways stand and trains to Delhi are cheaper for one person. A taxi makes sense when you are three or more people, carrying luggage or a patient, need to be somewhere at a fixed time, or want to come back the same day without waiting for a return bus. Split between four people, a Dzire round trip is a few hundred rupees each.
