WagonR, Dzire, Ertiga or Innova? Choosing the right cab for trips from Muzaffarnagar
A practical guide to picking a car for local errands, Delhi hospital visits, Haridwar with the family or a Mussoorie weekend — seats, luggage, comfort and cost per person compared.
The right car can make a long trip easy — and the wrong one makes it a squeeze. Here is how to choose between the cabs we run in Muzaffarnagar, based on who is travelling and where.
Quick guide
| Trip | Best pick | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Local errands, 1–2 people | WagonR (₹9/km) | Lowest rate, easy in city lanes |
| Delhi or Meerut, up to 4 people | Swift Dzire (₹12/km) | Sedan comfort, proper boot |
| Haridwar with family, 5–6 people | Ertiga (₹16/km) | Third row, one car for everyone |
| Airport with heavy luggage | Ertiga or Innova Crysta | Space for 3–5 large bags |
| Hill trips, elderly passengers | Innova Crysta (₹20/km) | Most legroom, smooth on long climbs |
WagonR — the everyday hatchback
Tall, easy to get in and out of, and the cheapest rate we have. Ideal for a quick hospital visit in the city, a run to the station, or a trip to Meerut for one or two people. Luggage space is limited — fine for a bag or two.
Swift and Baleno — a little more comfort
At ₹10/km and ₹11/km, these hatchbacks are a step up for longer highway drives with three people.
Swift Dzire and Hyundai Aura — the sedan sweet spot
The Dzire is the most popular car for Delhi trips. Four adults fit comfortably and the separate boot takes two suitcases. For a Delhi round trip of about 250 km, the Dzire costs around ₹3,000 — about ₹750 per person for four.
Ertiga — one car for the whole family
With three rows and six seats, the Ertiga is the family favourite for Haridwar, Shukratal or a wedding in Meerut. Instead of booking two small cars, one Ertiga keeps everyone together and usually costs less. With all seats used, boot space is small — fold the last row if you have more luggage than people.
Innova Crysta — for long trips and the hills
The most comfortable car in the fleet: captain seats or a bench in the middle row, plenty of legroom, and a strong diesel engine for the climb to Mussoorie. It is the best choice for elderly parents, patients travelling to Delhi or Chandigarh, and long airport runs with heavy bags.
Cost per person: a Delhi example
| Cab | Round-trip fare (≈250 km) | People | Per person |
|---|---|---|---|
| WagonR | ₹2,250 | 3 | ₹750 |
| Swift Dzire | ₹3,000 | 4 | ₹750 |
| Ertiga | ₹4,000 | 6 | ≈₹667 |
| Innova Crysta | ₹5,000 | 7 | ≈₹714 |
For bigger groups, the larger car often works out cheaper per head — and far more comfortable.
Short trips and the local minimum
On round trips under 200 km, the ₹2,200 local minimum applies when the metered fare is lower. That means for a Meerut or Roorkee trip, an Ertiga often costs the same as a WagonR — so pick the bigger car. See worked examples.
